John Berky re-joins Board of Directors
During Mr. Berky's 7 years as Executive Director of SS&C SummerWind, he has proven instrumental to the organization's progression. His expertise in the design, building and operations of the performing arts center continues to be an asset to the organization, Chairman Doug Kerr, said. John brings with him over 40 years of experience in the arts media industry. He previously presided as Director of Radio at Connecticut Public Broadcasting (WNPR) for 18 years. Mr. Berky was also the Music Director for the Broadcasting Foundation of America in New York. "It's a pleasure to have John on board, we are positive he will keep the spirit of SummerWind alive and moving in the right direction.," Mr. Kerr said. "His efforts were instrumental in bringing SummerWind back last year following our 6 year hiatus." While on the Windsor Board of Education, John became the first recipient of the town's "Bridge Builder Award." He has served as president of the Hartford and Windsor/Windsor Locks Rotary Clubs. Additionally, John has been awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship on two separate occasions. Effective April 1, 2011 Marty Collier will serve as Interim Executive Director after sitting on the SS&C SummerWind's Founding Committee. ### SS&C SummerWind Performing Arts Center is New England's premier outdoor music venue.
