Volunteer Expectations

SS&C SummerWind - Volunteer Expectations:

For those of you who have volunteered with SS&C SummerWind in past years Welcome Back! We are thrilled that you have chosen to continue to work with us! Please be sure to review the following information...

For those of you who are new to our organization (and maybe still unsure if volunteering with SS&C SummerWind is something you want to do), we encourage you to review our website and all the information provided below.

It is important that all of our volunteers read, understand, and commit to the following expectations. Should you have ANY questions about the following information, please contact us via our email address:
volunteersw@hotmail.com

Volunteering with SS&C SummerWind is a great time, but it is also a commitment! We expect ALL volunteers to fully participate in at least 2 events and stay until each event is over (hours include arriving before an event starts and staying 30-60 minutes after the event ends depending on the need). Typical hours expected are roughly 5:00pm 11:30pm.

Our guests see our team of volunteers as representatives of the SS&C SummerWind organization. As such, we expect each person on our team to adhere to the following guidelines:

Drinking of alcoholic beverages and smoking is prohibited at all times

Dress code: khaki pants or shorts, nametags, SummerWind shirt (will be provided)

Be respectful, enthusiastic, professional, & knowledgeable when interacting with our guests!

Fully participate in your volunteer assignment for the duration of the event and be willing to shift to other roles as needs arise as requested by SS&C SummerWind staff.

Become familiar with SS&C SummerWind policies. Ask questions as needed.

Most volunteer assignments will include some down time. Although we want each of you to enjoy the event, when you are not performing your assigned role you must be easily accessible, ready, and willing to perform duties as requested.

Food is available for purchase at each of the events. Please plan accordingly.

Finally, our primary mode of communication with our volunteers will be via email correspondence. All volunteers must have an active email account that they check regularly.

You will be assigned to a team that is led by a captain. Your captain will be your primary contact for questions / concerns / confirmation of attendance at our events.

We want your volunteer experience to be a pleasurable one. Do let us know what we can do to improve our efforts and / or make our guest experience A+. We are excited about the 2011 season, and look forward to working with all of you!
